If you could land a patch in AT-SPI2 which does that work, it would be
super.

If memory serves me, Clutter also fails to populate all properties of
accessible input events. If you're working on fixing this in AT-SPI2 so
all clients can benefit, it would probably be worth checking if there is
anything else it can do so that we all get ready-to-consume events.
