Re: [orca-list] Ot: VPS

Howdy
Maybe this is not your all solution but:
you can configure pulseaudio to send the TTS via network.
so if you dont need braile orca can read for you also if the PC is a remote one. About security: i think its not mor or less secure to just send ATK events via network...

One feature that's missing in GNOME and Orca is the ability to access
graphical desktop environments remotely.

A good use case would be in system administration, where one might need to
configure a desktop environment for a user remotely.

I suppose it could be done to some extent by copying configuration files,
although the GNOME configuration system no longer uses text files for its
settings (I'm not sure about other desktop environments).

I expect it would be a complex undertaking to make Orca work remotely. The
DBus traffic would need to be carried over the network, as would keyboard
input.

If we're identifying the large technical challenges facing Orca (new features,
not just keeping up with bugs and regressions), then I would consider remote
desktop access and touch screen support to be among the most complex.

For those, the project would need significant resources beyond what it already
has.
