Re: [orca-list] Audacity

Hi Jean-Philippe:

I mean that certain wxWidgets are inaccessible in Linux. These widgets
look to Orca (and to Accerciser, and to any other AT-SPI-based AT) like
an empty, non-interactive panel. These widgets may be accessible in
Windows. What would make them accessible is presumably the wxWidgets
developers implementing ATK support for those widgets. But I'm not
familiar with how wxWidgets works and do not have time to look into it
further. Hopefully someone else does.

Sorry!

Do you mean that wxWidgets are inaccessible? Or should be "plugged" to
at-spi? What solution to make them accessible?

From a quick search, it also appears that Audacity uses wxWidgets. Not
all wxWidgets are accessible. So if there is something in Audacity that
Orca cannot see at all, that would be my first guess.

Really capital info! Great Kyle thanks! We should write a fully manual
for Audacity via keyboard for visual-impaired, I've not found anything
about it (any tutorial).
Hey Jean-Philippe,

there is a page about accessibility for blind users
<http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Audacity_for_blind_users> on the
Audacity wiki.

Best regards.
