Yes, it is for sure useful, and I aplaud your work.
Time will tell what will work out best over the long run I guess.
Being language independent is a goodnes, and we'll just have to try the native system once it is ready for
that to compare ease of use.

Howdy list,
Just for cearification.
The Simple Orca Plugin System is not born to replace a native , in orca integrated Plugin system. Fur
shure it never could as integrated and powerfull as its native brother. I.e. we are using the filename
for storeing the plugin prefereces ;). The maingoals are:
- simple plugins should be as programming language independ as possible
-advanced plugins should make it easier to share the customisazin.py stuff.
- chrys learns new stuff in focus to orca. How should i redesign the GUI without knowledge :)? I want to
do things better not more worse.
The SOPS loader is basical a plugin by itself that is just loaded in your customisazion.py. The SOPS is
ready, it works, it should help any of us but it cant be the final shot :). Its better than nothing.
But I m happy that you enjoy it that shows me that storm_dragon and me created someting usefull.
Cheers chrys

It seems to me that unless there are very different goals and capabilities in the two plug-in systems
that it would be much better for everyone to come
together and decide on which oone to use and concentrate all eforts there.
While in theory one could certainly have two plug-in platforms available for orca it seems like going
that toute would create clutter, bloat and
confusion.
If there is no obvious better plug-in system then perhaps it should come down to which system testers
prefer.
I can see a lot of support email asking why a plug-in written to run on one system does not worlk on the
othedr.
Maybe things are not that far apart under the hood and the work can be merged and adapted in to one
system, but if not my gut feeling is that it would
be best to decide on one approach sooner rather than later.

hi
I wonder whether joanmeri will merge this into orca when she adds plugin
support or add her own? I seem to remember her saying she'd use libpeas for
the plugins, so not sure.
Thanks

I made a script that I bind to a keyboard shortcut for this myself. It announces using yad or zenity
in the GUI and just echos when in a console.
The new plug-in system is perfect for this kind of thing though.
Thanks again guys for putting this together for all of us.
