I have used fireftp, a firefox extension in the past to add some extra ftp
functionalityto firefox, but I, and most people I know use commandline ftp
clients.
I can recommend lftp, but there are other good ones around.
I think yafc is one that some friends recommend, but not used it myself.
Serverwise I only have experience with proftp, and had no complaints.

Hello, Jordy,

I prefer curlftpfs to mount the remote FTP server locally (in Terminal)
and can access it as it were a local directory.

I assume, this would not require curlftpfs being accessible (it's a CLI
tool).

Kind regards,

André

I prefer lftp, which you can run from gnome-terminal if you wish.
