For that matter, other popular file managers let you connect to remote
servers, pcmanfm, my must have program no matter shat distro/desktop I am
running for its speed and very good if slightly limited feature set, and
caja, the nautilus fork used by Mate, also very good, and mostly nicter
than current nautilus in my opinion, but not to be run at the same time as
nautilus, or at least last I heard this was a no no.

Hello,
It really depends on what you are trying to do.
When coming from Windows to Linux this was one of my most difficult
questions.
At first I wanted to have all in one usable graphical FTP client similar to
Filezilla however filezilla is unlike to get better accessibility support
since it inherits most of its accessibility issues from wxGtk that is not
expected to get addressed in the mean time I started looking for other
choices.
For simple browsing one time uploads and downloads I do use nautilus also
known as Files app when you are using GNOME or Unity desktop environments.
Nautilus uses GVFS to access remote sites including FTP so you can just put
an FTP url into its address bar or you can go to its top pannel menu and hit
Connect to server from there.
It support plain FTP, SFTP, FTP with SSL (I think FTPS) and also FTP with
TLS(I assume FTPES).
Then I some times use Firefox addon called Fire FTP, that looks similar to
Filezilla however that's not a standalone app but a Firefox addon.
And finally for syncing large directory trees over FTP I either use ncftp or
LFTP from the command line.
There are much more FTP clients than these but this is a combination that
works for me.
Greetings
Peter

Hello,
With Ubuntu Mate 16.04 and Orca 3.18.2, I'll use a FTP-client. I tried to
use Filezilla, but the foldertree is inaccessible!
Which FTP-client is accessible and fully usable with orca?
Thanks!
