Re: [orca-list] maybe off topic: using chromium and chromium-chromevox

According to Mike Dupont:
# targeting one browser is against the idea of an open web. We should be
# sticking to open standards and not requiring one browser.

This is very true, and I'm not sure how I overlooked this. The puzzling
thing to me is why the organization requires the use of Chrome/Chromium
specifically. One possibility is the same reason that https://talky.io
once did. Apparently Chromium's implementation of the WebRTC standard
was at one point more stable than the implementation in Firefox, but
this has most definitely changed within the past year. For WebRTC, the
two major browsers should no longer have any trouble communicating, even
with each other, as they are both now quite standards compliant. If only
it worked correctly in Epiphany, as that would probably be my browser of
choice if things like HTML5 and WebRTC were a bit more usable.
