Re: [orca-list] whyspeech-dispatcher open four pulseaudio channels

hi
I'm going to take a guess, and it's only a guess. There are usually
four speech-dispatcher modules running at all times, whether or not
they're being used. Sd_espeak. The espeak driver. Sd_dummy. The dummy
driver that does nothing but speak repeatedly a test message.
Sd_cicero, a speech-dispatcher driver for some kind of synth, I think
swedish? And sd_generic, the generic sd driver. They probably each
have their own pulseaudio channel opened so they can speak, even
though only one is in use at a time. I think this is a high priority
to fix in speech-dispatcher and is being worked on now, both to
improve system performance and also to reduce the lag on low resource
systems. Again, just a guess, I'm no speech-dispatcher developer
Thanks

Dear users and developers, Ihave found out, that speech-dispatcher
uses Pulseaudio more than Three times. So inside apps which can
display which apps are using Pulseaudio, Speech-dispatcher is The
Pulseaudio client for more than three times. May be, that this can
make sound issues with cheap and integrated sound chips, which do
not support multichannel output from its hardware perspective. I
will test Pulseaudio with default settings with USB sound cart,
which support multichannel output from its hardware level. So
please, would somebody of us write
