Hello,
I am not sure this is the recent message on this topic posted to this 
list but we have a big news available in the mozilla bugtracker.
The bug causing incorrect reporting of list items content after a change 
has been fixed. I haven't yet tested this in Thunderbird but it has 
definatelly been tested and found working in Firefox.
