Install Ubuntu then add the repositories and turn it into Mint.

But this does not seem to work as far as I can tell.
Perhaps the recent post was referring to an earlier version of Mint.
I tried it first over an Ethernet connection (wired), and when that did not
work, I had someone connect the wireless.
