Yes, the unfortunate side effect is that not all, but most of your apps'
user-level configurations will go away. You can try targeting GNOME
specifically by removing ~/.config/gnome-session, ~/.config/dconf,
~/config/gconf, ~/.config/gtk*, ~/.local/share/gnome-shell and
~/.local/share/gsettings-daemon. This should leave the configurations
for most of your applications, including Orca, in tact. Hope this helps.
