I think super + f10 brings up a list of applications which one can navigate using up and down arrows.

I have tryed with Ubuntu 13.04 and gnome shell 3.8 installed, but certain keyboard commands like super + f10 does not seem to make the applications launcher come up. Or it comes but Orca does not speak.
Also I tryed super + a and still not getting the desired result.
