Hello,
I am sorry I don't know what else to add.
I just know Jonathan had this issue a while ago. Hopefully he will be
able to add something into this.
On my arch machine it works well with firefox and thunderbird.
Greetings
Peter

Hi, Peter!
The dash wasn't there on my first try, but I have since added it,
restarted, and get the same result; that is, no access to thunderbird
and firefox. Epiphany browser seems to work, but its over-all
accessibility is not as mature as that of firefox, in my experience.
Thanks,
Dave Hunt

I am not sure you have just miss-typed this into the email or this might
be a real issue but the line you have added to your .profile should look
like
export GTK_MODULES=gail:atk-bridge
