Re: [orca-list] First impressions after the migration to Ubuntu 12.10

Hi,

Yes, they do, but the problem is they aren't accessible out of the box
the way Sonar's alternative desktop spins are. Last time I checked
Xubuntu, which comes with Xfce, Orca wasn't installed and I would have
to have someone sighted install Xubuntu, install Orca, and then
configure Xfce for access. Kubuntu isn't much better. After installing
Kubuntu you have to install Orca, at-spi, qt-atspi, etc separately and
configure the access for KDE. So unless access has changed those
alternative versions of Ubuntu you speak of aren't very VI friendly
natively. Sonar is a better option because I can download a version
with Gnome, LXDE, whatever with Orca installed and ready to go.

Cheers!
