Then, you will probably have to hack it so that it works for you.  Support
for it appears to have been removed out of the box.  This may involve
installing one or more of the packages from source and going into makefiles
and the like.  That, or it could be a broken package.  You are using a Beta
version, after all.  You cannot expect the same performance out of it that
you can get in Squeeze.

in squeeze gnome-speech works fine.
This is strange, since there are gnome-speech packages in wheezy, and I've
installed everything.
