Does opentts uses same code as Espeak with some modifications?

Both systems call espeak with their own respective modules. The
configuration files have basically the same parameters so espeak
doesn't change in default behavior. As an extra side note here, I
thought OpenTTS supports the Klatt Options for Espeak; not sure if
speech dispatcher does yet or not. Recall that later versions of
Espeak allows some variations to the voice to get those other sounds.
I forget the exact parms right now but speech dispatcher 0.6.7 does
not support them; I did it originally with espeakup.

What is the sound like.

Same as before.

Does it have any impact on overall performance of Orca?

It hasn't on my machine. Plus the elimination of so many memory leaks
ot to benefit all of us.
