Does opentts uses same code as Espeak with some modifications?
What is the sound like.
Does it have any impact on overall performance of Orca?

There's been a fork. I think the price we'd pay in developer time trying
to maintain shared code would ultimately exceed any benefits we'd derive
from doing so.
