Hi,
I also got no sound but
a sighted person told me that the sound was muted.
After unmuted Orca was doing great.

When I installed Vinux, there was also no sound. In my case, I had
sighted assistance. See if the volume is all the way down in the gnome
panel, last icon. If so, have someone help you out and have it set to
65535. Either that or use Orca Key+pageup a few times until you hear
speech. Hope this helps. The Orca key is the number 0 on your numpad.
