Hello,
the package name seems to be network-manager on my debian system. It
also seems to have a package named network-manager-gnome for the gnome
frontend stuff but as network-manager-gnome depends on network-manager
then just removing network-manager probably will remove
network-manager-gnome as well.
Please notice how these package names I have mentioned here use a dash
character to separate the words.

I still wanna know how you remove gnome-network-manager or is that
even literally the name of the pkg? Could I just do an apt-get remove
with that pkg name:
"gnome-network-manager"

Hello,
Just as a quick note, on machines which will require wireless I also
use wicd. As I remember when tabbing around I don't think orca speaks
the network name associated with the checkbox. However this is very
minor as you can easily use flat review to check which network you
are dealing with.
Also for those who use the text console quite a bit, I think there
are front ends for wicd for the text console.

I agree with VojtÄch. I use Wicd on my own system. To get Wicd, run
the following command in the terminal:
sudo apt-get install wicd
Wicd should install and it will replace network manager. Hope this
helps.
