Frankly, I found it really annoying having the thing announce every!
blasted! song, every! blasted! time! the song would change. Though I agree
there needs to be a way to have it do this automatically, or a way to query
the title, shouldn't there be a way to enable and disable this
functionality? Hearing the title every song to me at least, gets somewhat
old.
Chris.

Hey Josà and Paul.
The problem does not happen using rhythmbox.

The other question would be: Are accessible events being emitted letting
us (Orca) know that these things are showing up on the screen. Assuming
they are indeed showing up on the screen under these conditions.
The odds that only accessible events are being blocked and only when the
movie player app is active are surely quite small. Therefore, I would
think that if the notifications are showing up on screen, there'd be
corresponding accessible events. You could capture a full debug.out and
go searching for the events to find out if a) they're being emitted and
b) if Orca is doing anything in response or not.
HTH. Take care.
