Hey Steve.
I just tried Navigator and still can't use it at all. What is going
on here?
What version of OOo?
This is my second reply to you; now using version 3.4_dev from our
ArchLinux repo and further version information shows 300M85 build
9515.
Yes. Yes it is. <smile>
Yes is right; it works much better with this latest version. Thanks.
I'm about to run some errands, I'm afraid. But if you're around and have
a little time, would you mind pulling the current OOo dev build and
trying again?
Not at all; as I mentioned above, the ArchLinux maintainers have a
beta (3.3) and dev(3.4) already packaged up so I didn't have to go and
compile and build my own package. I'm not sure how stable OOo is at
this stage of development as I had a pretty heavy crash once but in
general, I was able to use the navigator to jump around headers and
after a fashion, jump to a desired page number. If I may, I would
like to point out an observation concerning the page selection and ask
to see if this is proper behavior. When I get into the navigator
toolbar, I can aaarrow over to the panel which says something to the
effect that you should type in the page number and then press enter.
Well first, I could not type in the page number until after pressing
enter first. Also, in order to get to the correct page, I had to
highlight the entire text box and then overtype with the new page
number and then not press the enter key; it just goes after typing in
the digits. This doesn't sound right to me but what do Iknow?
Can you observe this observation?
Oh, I love that header deal; that is really slick. I took a book I'm
proofreading for BookShare and applied a heading1 style to all the
chapter titles and the list of headers shows up in the nav toolbar and
I just hit enter on the heading I want. It goes right there. I love
it!
