Thanks so much for looking into this.  I started a discussion on the  
gdm list this week regarding gdm a11y issues:

I haven't had a chance to debug things yet, so if you can help it would  
be great.  For the Orca issue, my suspicion is that the  
at-spi-registryd is not being launched, or it is being launched at the  
wrong time or with the wrong environment.  If you come up with a  
solution, please let us know.
