I find your discussion most interesting.  Can you point me to where to
make these changes? I'm not real familiar with gconf yet.  If we can't
get orca to talk yet, at least maybe I can restore the functionality
of pre-recorded audible prompts like I used to use.

I in the meantime have gone back to startx since I got the ck-login to
be used so I have automount working again.  But using gdm accessibly
would be nice though.
