Well, I use an IMAP server too and I was also deleting messages so
that's probably why; the pointers probably get messed up. But
still... When I would read one message at a time and come back out to
the inbox each time, It seemed to keep the place fine. But it does go
faster if I can start running through a stream of messages and delete
them as I go along.
Now if I can get the quoted portions to show up whith the quoted
character, it will be a lot easier especially with this top-quoted
stuff. <sigh>.
Mean time, mutt is doing a great job but I like to look at the gui
stuff whenever possible to be sure we're really making progress in the
gui arina.

Hi, Steve,
I see this problem only when I've been deleting mail from an imap server
from my Windows box. I'm not certain, but I think it only occurs when I
delete the message that has focus in the Thunderbird message list. I
haven't seen it happen with multiple messages open on the desktop.

I'm using Thunderbird a bit and one thing that is really bugging me is
if I go and read several messages particularly if I delete some along
the way and go onto the next and finally hit escape key to get back to
the inbox, I expect to remain focused on the message I was just
reading. Instead, it keeps taking me way back up the list, maybe some
20 messages or so. Has anyone else experienced something like this?
I will mess with it some more and see if I escape out after each single
message; that might hold the place better.
