The only reason why I trhink firevox should still be supported is that
it provides a funciontion for listing elements on a page such as links
in a list view at the press of a key. THis is usefull for those of us

navigation to find a link.

Doesn't the ' command in Firefox achieve this more effectively?

The difference between ' and / is that the latter searches all text in the
document, whereas the former is confined to links. To move focus to the text
that matches the search, you can wait for the timeout to expire, which is too
slow for my liking. This can be adjusted in the preferences though. Also,
pressing the escape key has the same effect.

That's not what Mike means: Indeed, he thinks of a list command, provided in Windows screen readers, where
you can list
certain elements, such as links, headings, lists, tables etc.
Firevox provides this too. "." and "/" are designed to search the page for any text, no matter what typ it is.
You must therefore activate the "search as you type" function in the preferences menu, but this collides with
the Orca
navigation keys. So using this, you have to toggle Orca's navigation keys, which doesn't make much sense. I
want to
remind you, that Orca itself has a "find" function, by pressing Control+F. It's very nice, but I would like
to have
listing commands too. However, I don't think that we should keep Firevox only fo this reason. Due to the
rapid
development of Orca it seems indeed become obsolete.
