I heard the pronunciations you provided. :-( I'm not sure what could
be going wrong. I'm not sure how this could be a localization thing,
but it might be. Before running down that path (I don't have a UTF-8
German locale on my box), can you verify that the above test fails for
you?
Yes. It shows no reaction, e. g. speaks the original characters.
Moreover: It tends to destabilize Orca, so that I removed that lines.
