Hi all,
My problems continue with orca on fedora 8.
I actually re-installed fedora 8 just to see if i had messed something up in the few hours I had it installed
before.
Now when I start orca, I still cannot use the alt keys to access the menus. Iam stuck in the orca main window.
I tried something a little different this time, though:
When I started gnome, rather than just pressing <alt+f2> and typing orca <enter>,
I typed orca > orca.log 2>&1 to trap any errors.
What I captured in the log was as follows:
orca: Fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server :0.0.
** (orca:17295): WARNING **: Failed to send buffer
The application 'orca' lost its connection to the display :0.0;
most likely the X server was shut down or you killed/destroyed
the application.
xmodmap: unable to open display ':0.0'
xmodmap: unable to open display ':0.0'
xmodmap: unable to open display ':0.0'
Cannot start Orca because it cannot connect
to the Desktop. Please make sure the DISPLAY
environment variable has been set.
This is orca 2.20.3, brltty 3.9, gnome-speech 0.4.18 lniux kernel 2.6.15-137.spk.fc8.
