krishnakant, Could it be that you are using the SD packages for Debian
unstable under Feisty? this is asking for trouble if you do not know
exactly what you are doing! Better wait for backports to become
available.

On Feisty, /var/run is mounted as tmpfs, thus
the transiet nature of its contents.

hi lukas,
yes you are right, I am using the deb packages from the debian repository.
so you say that they are creating problems.
can I be safe by compiling sd from source?
by the way one more problem has been encountered on my laptop.
I find that orca now does not speak any punctuation even when mode is
set to all.
this is happening only when I use sd as my speech system and not gnome
speech system.
now is this a bug in orca or gnome?
regards,
Krishnakant.
