Hi,
I got Orca back. I changed the last line in my ~/.orca/user-settings.py 
that had speechdispatcherfactory as speechserver. I changed it manually to 
gnomespeechfactory. The only thing I had to do was to restore my Orca 
settings manually.
To Tomas: The fact that this line has not changed, although I setup Orca 
again and again by typing
orca -t
can be a starting point to review the whole problem. But I think the 
backend has to be redone.
So folks stay away from SD as speech system until this has been solved. You 
can choose SD as synth, that should do no harm.
