Hey again Krister.
I have just upgraded to Ubuntu Gutsy and was curious as to what you got
with the upgrade. I got Claws-mail formerly known as Sylpheed-claws, and
guess what? It almost works with Orca.
You know, it does, I'll be darned. <smile> Proof that a little bit of
using standard widgets goes a long way.
Unfortunately, the FolderView and SummaryView trees seem to be the
exception. They each claim to manage their descendants, but then fail
to inform us when the active descendant (aka the selected item in the
tree) has changed. I was able to hack around it for the FolderView in a
claws-mail script. The hack currently fails for the SummaryView. I'll
look at it some more. However, in the meantime I filed an RFE for Orca
(http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=457840) and blocked it
against a bug I filed against Claws-mail
(http://www.thewildbeast.co.uk/claws-mail/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1269).
My hope is that the Claws-mail developers are interested in making
their application more accessible. <crosses fingers>
Take care.
Joanie
