Yes, this feature has been present from the start.

The harder question is if I'll support the changing of types, say from
WEP to WPA. On the one hand it will be difficult to do and I don't know
that simply deleting the essid and creating a new entry won't be
sufficient, but on the other hand "well, Windows does it."
