But they do not provide all the functionality of the icon view - I was
trying to think of things that I might want to do with new extension
system, and this was an idea.
Another idea that would require control over the thumbnails would be tow
play movies and animated gifs on mouseover (but that is definitely
crack).
Or it could be nice to be able to give an idea about the content, size,
age, etc. of folder by altering their icon (bulge, cobwebs, ...).
I am trying to come up with some ideas that might be worth looking into
(or they might now), but which hasn't really been feasible previously
due to the heavy nature of nautilus views.
Phew... That was a long rant.
All in all this is not to be taken too seriously. I am just trying to
find areas of the nautilus that may be worth making extendable.
