In windows you can get workspaces but you have look for them.
Here are some more cool things in gnome:
1.) gdekslets. I think gdesklets are some really neat things that look
awesome (judging from the screenshots anyway). However, I haven't been
able to install them. I think these gdesklets should make in the default
gnome install.
2.) Icon emblems. Although, these need to be improved so when the icon
size is small (like from a file-open dialogue) they still are visible.
Why isn't the SVG format used for icons anyway?
