considering that GNOME Shell is not using GTK, no: Bastien meant applications.

what applications does GNOME develop that are anything remotely like "traditional" applications?

i'm aware of lots of nice utilities and little tools that do one thing and do it well, but not of any actual applications that seem to have any roots in GNOME at all. browsers? text editing (there is gedit, i suppose)? spreadsheets? video editing? audio editing? image editing? tax preparation? banking? email?

people do still actually use their computers for their stuff, even if they have other computers (aka "smartphones" and "tablets") that are used for something else.
