A good guess but no cigar.  It seems related to the macros.  I can
clear all of the content, including the named expressions and XL 2k
still crashes.

This is a completely undocumented area of xls files I've tried a few
theories tonight to no avail.  I'll see if anything occurs while I
sleep.
