well, there's 2 possible solutions:

either your delete-button will behave just like the add-button we just
defined (and drop down a list of what to delete)

or
you have the same thing as with every other software i know, and
there's one last clicked item (and that's _either_ a group _or_ a
contact).. and thus that one will be deleted ...

for visual clarification usually that last clicked item is i.e. blue
and the other selected but not active are i.e. gray..
