Wrong. Close button should be on the side user prefers it.

The thought process here is simple - "we know better what is good than
freaking users". It appears to be a prevalent trend in Gnome shell
design decisions.
Well, this particular freaking user had enough of it.
I am unsubscribing and deinstalling gnome shell.
