ok, fair enought. i created a launcher on the desktop and moved it
manually into /usr/share/applications/ and indeed now the gnome-shell
finds it when i search for it.
however, im curious how i will do that once desktop icons are removed
(i understand that this is the mid-term plan for gnome-shell), as then
i can neither create launchers on the desktop nor on the panel.
