In terms of workplaces, this is better then current code cut, although,
just like I said in the other thread, eventually some sort of panning
will have to be used, otherwise it won't scale after a while. Or, there
can be a limit on the number of workplaces.

Still the same problem with Windows/Applications "submenu" after going
to overview mode. I think the number of "levels" for a user to see the
apps menu is too deep. Consider, to open an app, you have to:

1. Go to activities. (mouse move/move + click/key press)
2. Click on Applications.
3. Find your app.
4. Click it (switch back to plain view).

In fact, one may question the overview mode now completely.

Why have it when you can just have two sensitive areas on the top left:
Apps and Windows.

If you touch/click/gesture Apps, you get your apps menu overlaid on top
of you current workplace (and the content of the current workplace goes
dim in the background). If you touch/click/gesture Windows, you get
workplace switcher (and the content of the current workplace goes dim in
the background). Both of these would take less space on the panel and
look better as largish icons, with tooltips for the unfamiliar.

No need for a committee named "Activities". And no need to lose sight of
what you were doing. Instead current workplace can be pushed into dimmed
background and the rest can be overlaid on top.

But, never mind... Just saying.

PS. Somewhere under Windows, there could also be minimized windows for
the current workplace, so those wouldn't be lost either.
