I hadn't heard that - is it true? Gets my vote. I tried to use a global menu bar once, but lack of support from third party apps put me off. If it becomes standard in Gnome Maybe that would change. Will it be optional though, for people who don't like it?

I agree on this one. I don't feel like zooming out all the time just to switch windows. It could be an exposé-like feature, or reg ular tasklist, I don't really mind. As for the current top-bar: so mething needs to be done with it, since it's pretty useless now. T he information it currently shows (time, notifications, appname) i sn't of such importance that I need to see it all the time, it cou ld just as well only be shown in the overlay. So in my opinion the top bar should be

 a) completely removed, or

b) given some real functionality like the old gnome panel or the mac global menubar.

Isn't the plan to add a global menubar?
