Itried todowhatyouwrotebelow. And I have to say it works ... LCD just blink when I open the lid again. But that is what I was looking for.
Thank you for the answer. Noone from slovenian ubuntu community wasn't know that.
It really helps me, cause I think the Richard's answer is not a selution for my machine. I have so small RAMs, that I cannot use Firefox 4 for more than 5 minutes and Gnome3 is really too much for my computer.
Thanks again.

To directly answer your question, nafisa, after a bit of digging in
the code it turns out the "Do Nothing" option does exist, but only if
the preference is already manually set in gconf-editor. Fire up
gconf-editor (probably the easiest method would be to open the "run"
box by pressing Alt-F2 and typing gconf-editor in), and drill down to
/apps/gnome-power-manager/buttons/lid_ac (or lid_battery if that's
what you are interested in); double-click the key and type "nothing"
(without the quotes) into the box, and press enter.
Now, g-p-m shows "Do nothing" in the combo box for that particular action.
I haven't tested to see what effect it actually has, but this part's
half the battle I think.
Good luck, and I may take a look later to see if that has the desired effect.
Jacob
