Re: [gpm] Suggestion and question - I have some "problems" with GNOME Power Manager

To directly answer your question, nafisa, after a bit of digging in
the code it turns out the "Do Nothing" option does exist, but only if
the preference is already manually set in gconf-editor. Fire up
gconf-editor (probably the easiest method would be to open the "run"
box by pressing Alt-F2 and typing gconf-editor in), and drill down to
/apps/gnome-power-manager/buttons/lid_ac (or lid_battery if that's
what you are interested in); double-click the key and type "nothing"
(without the quotes) into the box, and press enter.

Now, g-p-m shows "Do nothing" in the combo box for that particular action.

I haven't tested to see what effect it actually has, but this part's
half the battle I think.

Good luck, and I may take a look later to see if that has the desired effect.

Jacob
