It also allows to show widgets conditionally (i.e. only show the bitrate slider if we've selected wavpack's lossy mode for example). Banshee's media profiles allows to specify for each profile a few gtk widgets (not as powerful as glade of course ;) ) and can do the calculations in the lisp-dialect. So you could a) only show the user the properties he wants and b) show him the properties in a unit he understands.
