No, you did not understood my mail. This work will not be obsolete never
(perhaps if some countries/languages change their name or code :-P),
It's just that I cannot add a dependency on iso-codes package that have
all those strings, thus I need to add those strings inside
gnome-control-center but in the future we will depend on iso-codes or
something like that. I'm just trying to tell you that I'm using the same
strings so you could/should reuse the strings and sync both
translations.

Then you can just use their english name. We should look the things we
win with this capplet and the things we lose and decide what benefices
us more.

When I'm talking about duplicated strings is because Evolution (and
other modules) have already some of those strings. We don't have the
tools needed to remove those duplicated strings but we will have them in
the future (I will try it).

auto-translator? if you have them already translated you can use msgcat
or a gettext compendia.

You should look at it this way: What's better? 400 new strings to
translate (or lose the 100% translation statistics) or get a capplet to
configure my locale preferences now instead of wait for it six months?

Another option I have is just release the capplet but without
translations. It's not an ideal solution but it's better than lose it
for GNOME 2.6. The translators should decide it.

Cheers.
