I have been following with interest the voting for the t-shirt design
of the 20 years of Linux.

I have noticed that initially, the stats were

* about 23% for the second choice

In a matter of a few days, the stats have been reversed and

As far as I understand, it is possible to cheat with the type of
voting that has been implemented on Linux.com.
The typical practice that you could have used here is to either
1. use one of those free e-voting service that tracks repeat voters
2. require voters to create a Linux.com account (if they do not have
one already) so that they can vote.

I think that this issue should be resolved quickly and fairly.

Αυτό που υποψιάζομαι είναι ότι δεν έχουν καταγράψει την IP για κάθε
ψήφο ούτε την ώρα που έγινε κάθε ψήφος.
Αν θελήσεις να υλοποιήσεις μια εφαρμογή ψήφου όπως έχουν στο
Linux.com, ο πιο εύκολος (και ανασφαλής) τρόπος είναι απλά να
διατηρήσεις ένα μετρητή.

Αν πράγματι τα έκαναν έτσι, τότε για να διαπιστώσουν αν πράγματι
υπήρξαν πολλές ψήφοι από την ίδια IP, μπορούν να αξιοποιήσουν μόνο το
αρχείο καταγραφής του Apache Web server access.log, που δεν αναφέρει
τι ψήφισε κάποιος, απλά ότι ψήφισε, τι περιηγητή χρησιμοποίησε, τι ώρα
ψήφισε και την IP του.

Αυτό που υποψιάζομαι ότι είναι βρίσκονται στην παραπάνω κατάσταση·
έκαναν ένα σφάλμα και δεν έχουν τη δυνατότητα να το διορθώσουν...
Αν τα πράγματα είναι όπως τα περιγράφω, πρέπει να πάρουν τη μεγάλη
απόφαση να ακυρώσουν την τρέχουσα ψηφοφορία και να ξεκινήσουν από την
αρχή, με βελτιωμένο σύστημα.

Αν κάποιος έχει αποθηκεύσει αρχικές εκδόσεις της σελίδας του Linux.com
όπου δείχνει τα αποτελέσματα της ψηφοφορίας (Flash animation με πίτα),
θα με ενδιέφερε να έχω αντίγραφα. Στη σελίδα αυτή καλείται αυτό το
Flash animation για το pie chart, και η σελίδα δίνει τα τρέχοντα
ποσοστά. Οπότε αν κάνατε Save, As Complete Web page, τότε στον κώδικα
HTML μπορούμε να εξάγουμε τα ποσοστά της στιγμής.
