Вот перевод, который вызывает вопросы -

Такой перевод противоречит хотя-бы HIG.

Do not include words like "GNOME", "X Window System", "GTK+" or other
platform details in Application menu names. The user probably already
knows what platform they are using, and if they don't, then application
names are not the right place to inform them.

Тут конечно сами разработчики постарались. Учитывая, что эта строка
постоянно видна большинству пользователей и хотелось бы экономить место
на панели, я предлагаю что-то вроде "Окружение", хотя, как мне кажется,
этот вариант тоже не лучший. Хотя так перевел Данило, например в
sk.po.
