Looking for canvas opinions

In the vein of sexy animations for games, I'm looking for opinions on
canvas API's. I just posted a blog entry[1] to that effect. You can
reply there or here, either way. The decision is not a rush by any
means and should be taken in concert by at least Thomas and myself
with general understanding and agreement of everyone who contributes
to Gnome Games. Other than Gnometris, I don't have any plan for the
selected canvas replacing the rendering engine for any other game. It
might be a nice project for the distant future, but for now, the
discussion is only about Gnometris.
