By all means change to the icons which are better.  I am asking that you
not compromise or settle for icons which are no better, or in some cases
not even as good as the ones we already have.

Some of the proposed icons are good and could be adopted now but it would
make things inconsistent.

If they could recreate some of their older icons in vector format and
within the Tango colour palette it woudl be great but it seems like they
are very busy recreating icons for the rest of Gnome - and getting tangled
up in arguments about having more icons to seperate subcategories of file
types, like differentiating the icons for lossey JPG and lossless PNG.
