I have applied Ruben's patch and yours as well, but they don't seem to
fix this issue, at least not completely. It still takes a lot of time
until the previews are displayed, when I try to import images from my
camera. After a while, they show up - and now they all have the date
01.01.1970 (1970/01/01). At least I can import them now without crashing
f-spot. But metadata are still rubbish.
