You can use them together, and as I mentioned I do that myself, but that
isn't the main point of my recommendation.

I thought it was clear from what I already said, but anyway: move your
mail from the old Evo into an IMAP account (using drag and drop or
ImapSync), then connect the new Evo to that same IMAP account and you
have all your mail. You can then explicitly download it again into a
local set of folders (assuming you've now moved the old folders out of
the way), or just keeping using it on the IMAP server. I would recommend
testing this on a small set of messages to make sure it does everything
you want. I seem to remember that if you use Gmail it might add some
header information and possibly change the "Received Date", but it was a
couple of years ago and I'm not sure.

The key phrase is "if it will work". It should work for two Evo versions
that are fairly close to each other, but for transferring from a really
old version to a new one there is a chance that it won't. Your best bet
is to try it and see. If it doesn't work, go the IMAP route as above.
